The Proline sportsbook brand has made history by becoming MLB’s first official sports betting partner in Ontario.
The deal between MLB and Proline’s operator, OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation), grants OLG the right to utilize official MLB logos and opens up cross-promotion opportunities throughout MLB’s digital and social channels.
For OLD’s Chief Digital and Strategy Officer Dave Pridmore, “teaming up with a world-class organization like the MLB enables OLG to create exciting, one-of-a-kind interactive experiences for baseball fans at the game and on Proline.”
This relationship will bring Proline customers closer to the game they love than they’ve ever been before, which is why it is so valuable to OLG.
When single-event betting was allowed in Ontario last year, Proline, the sportsbook brand of the province’s Crown organization for gambling, got first dibs. The provincial sportsbook faced increased competition after the introduction of fully regulated online gaming in Ontario.
The OLG has a fantastic chance to regain some of its lost market share thanks to the new agreement with the MLB. This is especially true given that Proline became the official sportsbook partner of the NFL and NHL earlier this year.
Executive Vice President of Business Development for Major League Baseball Kenny Gersh has remarked, “As we continue exploring additional avenues to engage our fans around the world through sports betting, we need to find creative, knowledgeable partners in their respective regions.”
“OLG is a reliable partner in Ontario with the foresight we need to expand our business.”
